Bolton returns to Twitter, promotes conservative PAC

Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton, who most recently served as National Security Adviser to President Donald Trump before leaving the administration over foreign policy disagreements, has recently been embraced by the Trump-haters, who hope Bolton will testify against Trump over the Ukraine issue.

It’s quite ironic, given how vociferously they despised him during President George W. Bush’s administration. Now, they are hanging on his every word, and it looks like Bolton may have just trolled them all to gin up support for his political action committee. As a headline on the website of leftist magazine Mother Jones complained, “John Bolton Wants to Spill the Beans…About His PAC.”

Bolton’s return to Twitter draws attention

Bolton’s name has come up repeatedly in witness testimony during the ongoing impeachment inquiry against President Trump, and a number of folks on the left have convinced themselves that Bolton will eventually roll on his former boss and deliver the goods, exposing the allegedly criminal acts that will lead to Trump’s removal from office.

In fact, Bolton has been called to testify as part of the inquiry but refused to appear unless ordered by a court to do so.

In the meantime, save for word of a reported new $2 million book deal, Bolton has remained silent about his time in the White House — until he issued a few teasers on Twitter last week, sparking hope on the left.

On Friday, Bolton suddenly tweeted, “Glad to be back on Twitter after more than two months. For the backstory, stay tuned……..”

Anticipation builds

Just a few hours later, Bolton followed that up with yet another tease that mentioned the White House and garnered attention from the liberal media as they collectively held their breath and repeated their oft-stated anti-Trump chant, “We’ve got him now!”

Bolton tweeted, “Re: speaking up — since resigning as National Security Advisor, the @WhiteHouse refused to return access to my personal Twitter account. Out of fear of what I may say? To those who speculated I went into hiding, I’m sorry to disappoint!”

The left became almost giddy with the thought of Bolton soon spilling all against President Trump, but alas, it was not to be — as least not yet, perhaps. Bolton pulled them all down off their cloud on Saturday morning with his big reveal.

The big reveal

“Many are speculating about what I plan to do next. I’m excited to tell you what I’ve been working on. Here is a preview:” Bolton tweeted with a link to his namesake PAC, which raises funds to support conservative candidates running for the House and Senate.

How quickly the left turns

To say the left was disappointed that Bolton didn’t drop a bombshell about Trump is an understatement. A quick perusal of the comments on his tweet showed how quickly the Twitter mob turned on him, demanding he testify before Congress or accusing him of being complicit in Trump’s alleged crimes.

John Bolton could end up testifying as part of the House Democrats impeachment charade, if ordered by a court to do so, and he may share some secrets from his time in the White House in his forthcoming book. But as of this moment, it sure looks like his recent attention-grabbing activity on Twitter were just a way to spotlight his PAC and troll the left.
