Vice President Mike Pence’s daughter has just made a surprising announcement about her marriage plans.
Charlotte Pence, alongside mother and second lady Karen Pence, appeared on Fox Nation’s After the Show Show on Tuesday where she revealed that her recently-announced engagement will be cut short and her wedding hastened “for deployment reasons.”
“He’s in the Navy and so we had to do it quickly for deployment reasons,” she said. As for just how quickly, Charlotte was only willing to say that the big day will occur sometime “around the holidays.”
Soon-to-be bride
In July, we learned that Charlotte accepted the marriage proposal of boyfriend Henry Bond. She shared the experience, along with some photos capturing the event, on social media.
“I said ‘yes,’ and then I said ‘thanks’ a lot because I didn’t know what else to say,” Charlotte wrote at the time, adding, “I love you. Let’s do this.”
For the most part, Charlotte has tried to keep details about her relationship and her fiancé under wraps. After her appearance on Fox, it is now at least clear that Bond is in the military — the Navy to be precise.

Charlotte’s reluctance to dole out any further information remained throughout the remainder of the interview, causing host Steve Doocy to joke: “You’re worried we’re going to show up, aren’t you.”
“Yes,” responded Charlotte’s mom, Karen.
“I guess at your level, you have to send out a ‘save the date’ a month before and send out a day before where to meet,” said host Ainsley Earhardt, continuing in the spirit of lightheartedness.
Charlotte, though, held firm during the banter, declining to provide additional details. All she was willing to say was that the wedding will take place in the “D.C. area,” while promising to reveal more specifics as the wedding date draws near.
Change of topic
Although wedding talk, not surprisingly, became the focus of the interview, Charlotte was actually being interviewed in order to promote her new children’s book, Marlon Bundo’s Best Christmas Ever. The third book in a series that centers on the Pence family’s pet rabbit, Marlon Bundo, provides readers with an inside look at Bundo’s first, and apparently best, Christmas at the Capitol. As a bonus, the events of the story are illustrated by Karen Pence.
With the release of a new book and the upcoming nuptials, these are certainly exciting times for the entire Pence family.
