Report links George Soros to infamous ‘whistleblower’ complaint against Trump

The “whistleblower” complaint at the core of the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry has been linked to George Soros.

The complaint — which accuses President Donald Trump of asking Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to dig up dirt on Joe Biden in a July phone call — relies partly on research by an organization funded by the progressive billionaire, according to Breitbart’s Aaron Klein. But as the media and the Democrats rush to the whistleblower’s defense, serious and familiar problems with the complaint’s credibility have emerged.

Whistleblower woes

For starters, the whistleblower has a reported indication of bias against President Trump, and has been reported to be a male official at the CIA placed highly enough to be in communication with White House staffers — though his allegations are based largely on hearsay and gossip. The whistleblower admitted as much, but claimed: “I found my colleagues’ accounts of these events to be credible because, in almost all cases, multiple officials recounted fact patterns that were consistent with one another.”

The complaint also relies heavily on media reports — from The Hill, The New York Times, and other outlets — as well as a Soros-funded group: the whistleblower references a July 22 report from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) to support allegations of conspiracy between Team Trump and the Ukrainians.

Referring to alleged efforts by the president’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, to follow up on Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian officials, the whistleblower claimed: “Multiple U.S. officials told me that Mr. Giuliani had reportedly privately reached out to a variety of other Zelensky advisers, including Chief of Staff Andriy Bohdan and Acting Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov.”

The complaint goes on to allege that Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko wanted to “communicate directly with Attorney General Barr” about alleged corruption involving the Bidens and alleged collusion between Ukrainian officials and the Democrats to interfere in the 2016 election, that Giuliani spoke with a Ukrainian prosecutor infamously fired under pressure by Joe Biden on a Skype call, and that “‘associates’ of Mr. Giuliani were trying to make contact with the incoming Zelensky team.”

He qualifies: “I do not know whether these associates of Mr. Giuliani were the same individuals named in the 22 July report by OCCRP, referenced above.”

As it turns out, OCCRP is funded in part by Soros’s Open Society Foundations. This is clear both from logos on the group’s website and its “About Us” section, which also lists Google, the National Endowment for Democracy, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and the U.S. State Department Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor as some of its additional funders.

Russia repeat

As Democrats circle the wagons around the anonymous CIA officer accusing President Trump of treason, Republicans have dismissed the scandal as a repeat of “Russia-gate.” Indeed, the hoax seems to be following a similar pattern, beginning with the leak of uncorroborated “intelligence” by a Deep State bureaucrat who seems to have an ax to grind.

But it wouldn’t be a full-blown hoax without Buzzfeed’s involvement, would it? As it turns out, the July 22 report cited by the whistleblower was actually produced from a “joint investigation by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and BuzzFeed News, based on interviews and court and business records in the United States and Ukraine.” Buzzfeed also infamously published in full the infamous Christopher Steele dossier, which was paid for in part by the Democrats, setting off the Russia collusion hysteria.

As Breitbart ably explains, Soros was involved in the prequel to the Ukraine hoax as well. As the Daily Caller first reported, Democracy Integrity Project — a Soros-funded group — paid millions of dollars to various companies associated with Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that supplied the Steele dossier.

Indeed, it seems many of the same players who helped the Democrats set up the Russia hoax are, once again, involved in its sequel. Meanwhile, as the president faces accusations of criminality and treason, the media is ignoring obvious corruption by the Democrats and the Bidens in Ukraine — to say nothing of the foreign election help that the Democrats sought with the Russia dossier.

But with Democrats now impeaching Trump, they risk exposing these scandals. How long can the media keep protecting the Democrats?
