Media mogul, entrepreneur, actress and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey has just announced plans for a national arena tour that will take her on the road starting in early 2020.
Called “Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus,” the tour is slated to kick off in Fort Lauderdale on Jan, 4 and end in Denver on March 7.
While she has criss-crossed other countries in recent years, this will be Winfrey’s first U.S. tour since 2014’s “Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend.”
Promoting wellness
“I have some good news to share,” she announced in a promotional video, “I’m going to hit the road. We’re calling it ‘2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus.'”
“I’m partnering with WW (Weight Watchers) to make 2020 the year of transformation. Come spend the day with me as I share lessons about about my own wellness journey — I’ve had my share of life’s ups and downs.”
Winfrey will reportedly be addressing health and wellness topics, introducing an interactive workbook, and helping attendees develop an action plan for their own lives.
“What I know for sure is we can all come together to support a stronger, healthier, more abundant life — focused on what makes us feel energized, connected and empowered,” she said.
“As I travel the country,” she added in a released statement, “my hope for this experience is to motivate others to let 2020 be the year of transformation and triumph — beginning first and foremost with what makes us well. This is the year to move forward, let’s make it happen in 2020.”
Charitable twist
The tour will also donate over $1 million to WW Good, an entity Weight Watchers founded “to support under-served communities and help them become healthier.”
“As a global purpose-driven brand, we have the capability and are committed to make communities healthier and make healthy habits accessible to all, not just the few,” company CEO Mindy Grossman explained.
“WW Good is an inspiring initiative that aims to unite our global community in a purpose beyond achieving personal success to help others live healthier, inspire healthy habits and create a world that’s better for everyone,” she added.
Winfrey will be accompanied on the tour by a collection of guests, the identities of whom have yet to be announced. Tickets go on sale Sept. 9.
