Prominent Democrats named in unsealed Epstein lawsuit documents

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York, by order of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, unsealed and released hundreds of previously secret documents related to a lawsuit against convicted sex offender and wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein filed by one of his many accusers.

The materials — not all of which have yet been released — contained the names of several prominent Democrats and public figures who, according to accuser testimony and flight logs, are alleged to have engaged in sexual activities with underaged girls in the early 2000s.

Big names emerge

Fox News reported that the defamation lawsuit against Epstein was initially filed several years ago by now-33-year-old Virginia Roberts Guiffre, who claimed to have been victimized by Epstein and dozens of others when she was still a minor.

Among the names of noteworthy Democrats appearing in the documents is that of former Maine Sen. George Mitchell, who served as Senate Majority Leader and was a special envoy to the Middle East for former President Barack Obama.

Another high-powered Democrat name found in the documents is that of former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, who also served in Congress and in the Clinton and Obama administrations.

Both Mitchell and Richardson released statements denying any sexual involvement with Guiffre.

Elite circles involved

Those weren’t the only big names to be unveiled in the release of the documents, as CNBC reported the documents also named “numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known Prime Minister and other world leaders” who were alleged to have sexually abused Guiffre and others.

One such foreign leader named in the documents is Britain’s Prince Andrew, who has long been rumored to have partaken in the debauchery alleged offered by Epstein and his friend/madam Ghislane Maxwell, a woman who has been accused of recruiting and managing Epstein’s stable of underage victims. The prince also denied any involvement in the alleged sexcapades with underage girls.

As for the left’s attempts to try and tie President Donald Trump into the whole sordid affair, the documents make it clear that he had no involvement in the matter whatsoever, as Guiffre herself, who worked at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, testified in a deposition that she never had sex or even had any flirtatious encounters with Trump.

More to come?

CNBC reported that a lower court will soon determine if and when the rest of the nearly 2,000 documents in the lawsuit will be released to the public, which would likely prove incriminating to other prominent individuals…perhaps even former President Bill Clinton.

Speaking of incriminating, one interesting thing to note is that this batch of released documents included a 2016 deposition of Epstein during which he often and repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment constitutional right against self-incrimination in response to probing questions about his activities and the those of others in his orbit, such as Maxwell.

Hopefully, the court will see fit to release all of the documents — and anything else that may be related — so that the full story of what Epstein did can come to light and those who engaged in illegal activities alongside him can be held accountable for their alleged depravity.
