Former FBI director and Russiagate special counsel Robert Mueller may have been directly involved in letting a serial pedophile off the hook in a major child prostitution case, according to internal FBI documents and court filings.
Serial sex offender
Billionaire hedge fund manager and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is back in the news after being charged with a fresh barrage of sex-trafficking crimes. The new indictment, to be unsealed Monday in a Manhattan federal courtroom, accuses Epstein of paying “one victim if not more” for massages before subsequently molesting them in his Florida and New York homes, according to Miami Herald correspondent Julie K. Brown.
Brown told MSNBC that some “very powerful people” are “sweating a little bit” following the indictments. A 2016 report from Fox News produced flight manifests showing that former President Bill Clinton took as many as 26 flights on the sex offender’s personal jet — nicknamed “Lolita Express” — on jaunts to exotic locales around the world.
Epstein’s rich and famous entourage even included President Donald Trump, Great Britain’s Prince Andrew, and actor Kevin Spacey. “We’ll have to wait and see whether Epstein is going to name names… to lower his culpability,” Brown said following the recent charges.
The Mueller connection
However, this won’t be the first time Epstein has run afoul of the law for operating a child sex ring. Mueller’s FBI had the billionaire dead to rights in 2007, but failed to issue federal charges.
Epstein’s lavish estate, situated on a private island off the coast of Puerto Rico, was used for years to entertain the global elite. But the financier’s guests weren’t there to discuss “cutting edge scientific and medical research,” the declared rationale for the existence of the Epstein VI Foundation.
In fact, “Orgy Island,” as the private resort came to be known, was allegedly used to entertain high-profile guests by offering them sex with underage girls. In fact, police conducted an 11-month sting on the island after the mother of a 14-year-old girl claimed that her daughter was paid $300 to strip naked and give Epstein a massage.
Altogether, the US Attorney in Miami put together a case involving more than 30 underage victims, but Epstein never faced any federal charges for running an international child sex trafficking ring. Why?
Epstein avoided federal prosecution in his case, and agreed to serve an 13-month sentence at the state level, because he struck a deal with the Department of Justice. An FBI Vault release in May 2018 stated that, “Epstein has also provided information to the FBI as agreed upon. Case agent advised that no federal prosecution will occur in this matter as long as Epstein continues to uphold his agreement with the state of Florida.”
A year-long investigation by the Miami Herald uncovered the reason why Epstein was let off the hook. Apparently, the FBI was more interested in securing the hedge fund manager’s help in prosecuting two Bear Stearns executives for financial crimes.
Looks like we have an answer on Epstein’s cooperation with the FBI/DOJ, thanks to great reporting by @MiamiHerald
The DOJ wanted to prosecute executives instead of a child molester.

Off the hook
Mueller very likely played a key role in deciding not to prosecute Epstein at the federal level and getting Florida prosecutors to go easy on him. Documents show that the FBI’s case was administered out of its offices in Washington, D.C., and the federal agency was directly involved in the DOJ meetings regarding Epstein’s case.
Furthermore, after the plea deal was arranged, it appears that investigators had no interest in talking with Epstein’s victims. Five months later, and FBI agents still had not interviewed key victims and witnesses in the case.
Ok Techno, what does this have to do with Mueller?
The case was being run from DC.
Spring of 2008: Emails between FBI agents and the local ass’t US attorneys reveal “continued delays” in getting the case to a grand jury “due to the failure to receive decision from DC” pic.twitter.com/u7AQPXuuhz

By the spring of 2008, a grand jury had still not been assembled to try the case. Contemporaneous emails between FBI agents demonstrate that the reason for these “continued delays” was “due to the failure to receive decision from DC.”
Mueller had no qualms about using aggressive prosecutorial tactics to go after the Trump campaign during his two year Russia investigation. When it came to taking down a convicted pedophile who abused as many as 30 underage victims, however, Mueller sat on his hands.
