Jon Voight sends support to Laura Ingraham amid left-wing boycott

Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight sent his love and gratitude to Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday, praising the conservative anchor in the midst of a Hollywood blacklist campaign. Like many Republicans, Voight does not want to see The Ingraham Angle cancelled over a left-wing boycott.

Lifting her up

“You know the truth is very important — right now most especially,” Voight said in a brief video that he shared on Twitter.

“And those who believe in the truth are to be cherished. People like Laura Ingraham. They’re wonderful people who we need very much at this time, when our president is being attacked with lies and slanders from the media,” he explained.

Voight is a vocal Trump supporter and outspoken conservative who starred in such blockbuster classics as Midnight Cowboy, Coming Home, Heat and Deliverance. He is also the only prominent celebrity to offer words of encouragement to Ingraham after she was attacked by the left in a campaign calling for her show’s cancellation.

“So I have a message for Laura, I want to send her my love, and I want to thank her for all that she does. God Bless Laura,” Voight said.

Ingraham is accused of mocking slain rapper Nipsey Hussle just days after his death in a shooting outside of his Los Angeles clothing store. “Yesterday in L.A., thousands lined the streets to say goodbye to rapper Nipsey Hussle,” Ingraham said on her April 12 show. “Now, this dear artist recently released a song ‘FDT’ — ‘F’ Donald Trump.”

After playing a clip of the music video, Ingraham and guest Fox News contribution Raymond Arroyo laughed at the song’s repeated use of derogatory language. “Now that’s a very creative refrain,” Ingraham sarcastically remarked. “The chorus, it goes on and on. Is that related to the lowest unemployment ever basically for African-Americans?”

Breaking her down

Ingraham’s statement precipitated an immediate backlash from rap icons and pop stars. California gangster rapper The Game led the grassroots effort calling for Ingraham’s termination.

“I’m asking all of my followers, fans, friends & family to spread this video with demands of #LauraIngrahams termination immediately !!!!!” he wrote in an Instagram post.

Soon, mainstream performers like R&B superstar Justin Bieber joined the cause, shaming the Fox News host’s in front of his 109 million Instagram followers.

“Did you not think about the family who just lost a love one and now have to see you mock him on national television,” he asked. “It’s absurd and you should be fired period.”

Voight’s words of encouragement are evidence that there are still a few free thinkers in Hollywood who haven’t conformed to a progressive worldview. While leftist elitists seek only to censor and attack, conservatives like Voight work to inspire and motivate. His words are like a breath of fresh air.
