Breaking his silence, Trump fires back at Kellyanne Conway’s ‘husband from hell’

President Donald Trump has ended his silence after enduring a steady stream of demeaning insults from a critic who just so happens to be married to one of his most loyal advisors.

The president roasted conservative lawyer and frequent critic George Conway, husband to senior Trump aide Kellyanne Conway, in a much-deserved social media clapback, calling him a “stone cold LOSER & husband from hell.”

Ouch! George Conway burned

Trump also retweeted comments from his 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale, insinuating that “Mr. Kellyanne Conway” was turned down for a White House job in 2017.

The president’s newest punching bag responded to Trump’s attacks by doubling down on the mental illness slurs, saying: “Congratulations!  You just guaranteed that millions of more people are going to learn about narcissistic personality disorder and malignant narcissism! Great job!”

Although Trump definitely savaged Mr. Conway with his coarse remarks, a more humiliating indignity awaited the anti-Trump attorney. Setting aside her wedding vows for the moment, Kellyanne Conway ultimately took the president’s side in the verbal exchange, scolding her husband instead of defending him.

Kellyanne Conway warned her husband that Trump is a “counterpuncher” who was justified in responding to a tweet from her husband which accused the president of suffering from a mental illness. “You think he should just take that sitting down?” she asked.

This isn’t the first time the Conways have been engaged in a public rift. In an August interview with The Washington Post, Kellyanne Conway explained the dynamics of her marriage, insisting“I feel there’s a part of him that thinks I chose Donald Trump over him. Which is ridiculous. One is my work and one is my marriage.”

A family affair

After changing his political party status to “unaffiliated” in 2018, Mr. Conway became one of the president’s most vocal critics, and his proximity to the White House ensured that the media paid attention every time he tweeted something negative about his wife’s employer. He shared left-wing conspiracy theories suggesting that Trump was guilty of breaking campaign finance laws, accused the president of colluding with Moscow, and called his administration a “dumpster fire.”

Trump has been remarkably patient for a president who allegedly demands loyalty oaths from senior members of his staff. But after Mr. Conway slandered Trump with allegations that he suffers from narcissistic personality disorder, the president finally broke his silence.

For her part, Kellyanne believes that Trump held off from attacking her husband to avoid upsetting his most loyal and capable advisor.

“He left it alone for months out of respect for me. But you think he shouldn’t respond when somebody, a non-medical professional accuses him of having a mental disorder?” she said during an interview with Politico.

“Gossip Girl”

Meanwhile, Kellyanne insists that she and the president have only talked about her husband “in passing,” and their working relationship is unaffected by the rivalry.

“Why would it affect my job? Hasn’t everybody tried to push me out already and here I am, stronger than ever,” she said. “You’re looking at it the wrong way.”

Mrs. Conway continued: “Yesterday, George spent the day tweeting about the president. I spent my day doing two one-hour briefings with press and intergovernmental affairs people, agency people from all across the country and then over an hour briefing that I led in the Oval Office with the president and first lady in the cabinet on opioids at one year, so this is what I do here. I think it probably looks differently if everybody is turning into Gossip Girl.
