The fast-food giant Burger King jabbed President Donald Trump over a recent tweet where he misspelled the word “hamburgers” as “hamberders.”

“Due to a large order placed yesterday, we’re all out of hamberders,” the burger joint tweeted Tuesday morning from its verified account. “Just serving hamburgers today.”
The burger joint’s troll comes the day after Trump hosted the National Champion Clemson Tigers football team at the White House, where he served dozens of fast food hamburgers— including some from Burger King— to the players.
When Trump tweeted about the occasion, he prided himself on serving “over 1000 hamberders” to the players and paid for them using his personal funds because of the government shutdown.
“Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders etc,” Trump said in the tweet, which has been deleted.
“Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!” he added.
Trump also served food from Wendy’s, McDonald’s, and Domino’s Pizza at the event to celebrate the Tigers’ win over Alabama’s Crimson Tide.
White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley released a statement Monday confirming that the president personally paid for the fast food to be delivered to the White House because most White House staffers remained on furlough due to the shutdown.
“The President wanted to host a fun event to celebrate the College Football National Champion Clemson Tigers. Because the Democrats refuse to negotiate on border security, much of the residence staff at the White House is furloughed — so the President is personally paying for the event to be catered with some of everyone’s favorite fast foods,” Gidley said in a statement.
