Trump superfans ‘Diamond & Silk’ to get weekly program on Fox Nation

Trump-supporting Internet personalities Diamond & Silk are making a career jump from YouTube and Facebook to join the big leagues at Fox, the network announced Monday.

A new weekly program featuring the conservative sisters Lynnette Hardaway “Diamond” and Rochelle Richardson “Silk” will launch at Fox Nation, the network’s new digital streaming service for dedicated viewers.

Diamond & Silk to join Fox Nation

The bloggers and vloggers will join a roster of conservative media heavyweights, appearing alongside the likes of Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity on the subscription-based, on-demand service, which launched Tuesday for $5.99 a month.

“Diamond & Silk have proven to have cultivated a significant fan base and we are thrilled to have them be a part of FOX Nation,” John Finley, senior vice president of development and production, said in the Monday afternoon announcement.

The North Carolina natives rose to Internet fame with home-made viral videos expressing support for Trump when he was running for office and have continued to endorse him through his first term. The president is reportedly a fan of their videos and even invited them to the Oval Office in August.

The pair already appear as guests on Fox shows including HannityFox News SundayFox & FriendsThe Ingraham Angle, and Watters’ World, but now the vloggers will have their own weekly five-minute segment with commentary “focused on events of the day and casual discourse,” Fox said.

“We cannot wait to join the best Nation…FOX Nation!” Diamond & Silk said in a joint statement. “We have so much to share with all of you on this exclusive platform and can’t wait to get started.”

The two were prominently mentioned by Republican lawmakers during the congressional grilling of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in April, when the social media mogul responded to accusations of censoring conservatives. Diamond & Silk claimed that their Facebook page was shut down for being “unsafe to the community” and later testified about the alleged censorship before Congress.

Fox nation launching Tuesday

Fox Nation was announced earlier this year as the network’s answer to the rise of online media as some consumers, especially younger generations, have migrated from cable television to tablets, smartphones, and personal computers to get news and opinion. Fox has the largest audience in cable news but is clearly looking to expand its reach in the digital realm.

The service is targeted to Fox “superfans” and features “exclusive” digital content with Fox personalities that will be accessible to subscribers on smartphones and other streaming devices.

The platform will host newcomers like Diamond & Silk as well as familiar prime-time stars. Fox personalities including Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Jeanine Pirro, Tucker Carlson and Tomi Lahren will also appear in Fox Nation content.

The digital programming will include opinion shows like Lahren’s “Final Thoughts” along with original new series and documentaries like “What Made America Great” with Brian Kilmeade.
