Jerome Corsi Gets Tough On Mueller Plea Deal – ‘I Will NOT Sign A LIE!’

Imagine, if you will, that your wife or husband launched a massive investigation about who stole the last cookie from the cookie jar. Instead of going to work, your spouse has drained countless resources trying to get to the bottom of that caper.

You’d hope that after a year, and little else to show other than busting your cat and dog peeing in the kitchen sometime during the alleged theft, they would drop it. Instead, the fruitless search rages on.

That, in essence, is what special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible Russian “collusion” with the Trump campaign in the 2016 presidential election has been reduced to. Yikes.

It’s no secret why anti-Trump liberals are clinging so dearly to the Mueller investigation. With Trump’s economy booming and the Senate remaining in Republican hands after a hugely contentious midterm election, there’s precious little left for NeverTrumpers to hang their hats on.

But appeasing a liberal mob should never be the basis of a massive federal investigation.

To be fair, Mueller has certainly busted a couple of bad apples in his crusade, though none have provided any sort of tangible link to Russian collusion.

Paul Manafort? Clearly a bad apple with his money laundering and tax fraud, but that has less than nothing to do with Russia.

Michael Cohen? He admitted to using campaign funds inappropriately, but what’s Russia got to do with that?

George Papadopoulos? He lied to the FBI and got his 14 days in prison (which he started serving Monday, according to Fox News). But again, nothing else has come from that.

Mueller’s desperation is beginning to become palpable now, but unlike the aforementioned men, his latest target doesn’t seem too keen in aiding this farcical witch hunt.

Jerome Corsi, an author connected to Trump confidant Roger Stone, has seemingly had an about face after initial reports suggested that he would entering a plea deal with Mueller.

As CNN reports, Corsi is now refusing to play any role in Mueller’s “lie.”

“They can put me in prison the rest of my life. I am not going to sign a lie,” Corsi told CNN.

He described the experience of being in the hands of the special counsel’s investigators as “like being interrogated as a POW in the Korean War.”

Corsi seems ready to stand up for what he believes to be true, despite the murkiness of his future.

When asked by CNN what comes next now that he’s refusing this plea deal, he responded, “I don’t know.”

Corsi originally seemed to be ready to accept a plea deal over “giving false information to the special counsel or to one of the other grand jury.” Now? It looks like he’s decided not to go along after all.

Stone issued a statement after Corsi’s change of heart, claiming Mueller’s counsel was targeting the author “not for lying, but for refusing to lie,” according to CNN.

“It is inconceivable that, in America, someone would be prosecuted for refusing to swear to a false narrative pushed on him by the Muller investigators,” Stone added.

I, obviously, am not privy to what exactly happened behind closed doors between Mueller’s team and Corsi.

But if recent history is anything to go by, even if Corsi had agreed to a plea deal with Mueller, it wouldn’t have yielded any sort of “smoking gun” proving Russian collusion aiding the Trump campaign.

More often than not, witch hunts are not actually about witches. Mueller is proving that adage true bit by bit.
