Trump says he's willing to meet with Maduro to 'save lives' of Venezuelans

Trump’s remarks came a day after US imposed sanctions on Maduro’s inner circle and Trump said he could be ‘toppled’ in a coup

Donald Trump has said he is willing to meet with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduro if it would help ease suffering in the South American nation.

Trump’s remarks as he arrived for meetings at the United Nations came as speculation mounted that Maduro decided to travel at the last minute to New York to deliver his speech to the general assembly. He had earlier threatened to skip the global gathering.
