NBC News: Judiciary Committee aware of fourth sexual assault complaint against Kavanaugh

According to NBC News, the Senate Judiciary Committee is aware of yet another sexual assault allegation against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“When they left the bar (under the influence of alcohol) they were all shocked when Brett Kavanaugh, shoved her friend up against the wall very aggressively and sexually.”

“There were at least four witnesses including my daughter.” The writer of the letter provided no names but said the alleged victim was still traumatized and had decided to remain anonymous herself.

There is, however, a major caveat. This new claim, which allegedly describes an incident from 1998, came to the committee from an anonymous complaint sent to Republican Sen. Cory Gardner; it is not immediately clear what further investigation could take place unless at least one of the witnesses comes forward on her own. We only know that the letter was received and that Kavanaugh has denied these new allegations in a phone call with committee staff. A Democratic source cited by NBC called those questions to Kavanaugh “cursory,” and “believed it should be investigated more deeply.”
