Food Stamp Recipients Are In TEARS After Trump Just Made Good on Massive Campaign Promise

President Donald Trump might allow states to require drug testing for recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or food stamps.

From Conservative Post:

According to the Associated Press, the plan would affect only a sliver of food stamp recipients who were able-bodied, seeking certain specialized jobs, and didn’t have dependents.

That was only about 5 percent of the recipients, an administration official reportedly said.

On Tuesday, Trump signed an executive order directing his administration to, among other things, improve employment outcomes and economic independence for welfare recipients.

“Unfortunately, many of the programs designed to help families have instead delayed economic independence, perpetuated poverty, and weakened family bonds,” the order said.

It argued that the federal government should “do everything within its authority to empower individuals by providing opportunities for work, including by investing in federal programs that are effective at moving people into the workforce and out of poverty.”

Do you think it’s a good idea to start drug testing welfare recipients? Would this make things more difficult for freeloaders who are on the program when they could be working full time jobs?
