The Figures Are In, And You Won’t BELIVE What Has Happened to the Food Stamp Program Since Trump Took Office!

The USDA reports that for the fourth straight year, federal spending on food stamps is down.

From Conservative Post:

“Federal spending for SNAP totaled $68.0 billion or 4 percent less than in the previous fiscal year. … This was also 15 percent less than the historical high of $79.9 billion set in FY 2013.”

Yes, that means it also dropped in the last few years of Obama’s presidency. But there’s a big difference.

While Obama allowed states to waive work requirements to receive food stamps, Trump has made no such allowance. Which means Americans who need a hand-out need to prove they are trying to work and get things back on track.

And, as the number of those who get a job and start earning a sufficient living rises, the need for food stamps drops.

The Daily Caller reports:

Thirteen Alabama counties  saw food stamp use drop 85 percent between January and May 2017 once work requirements were put in place for childless adults. More than two dozen counties in Georgia  saw food stamp participation drop precipitously after work requirements were restored.

And that’s just one example in one state.

This is what is truly means to lead America back to greatness. You have to start at the most basic level – getting folks back to work.
