There is legislation going through congress that is causing many people to be alarmed that our constitutional rights will soon be a thing of the past. It would allow the federal government to have the continued ability to gather and access electronic data on Americans abroad and at home without a warrant. The reason for the legislation is that it would be easier to detect and fight terrorism. This raises an important question: Is fighting terrorism more important than our constitutional rights?
