Former WH press secretary Kayleigh McEnany joins Fox News as contributor

Many supporters of former President Donald Trump heralded his decision to hire Kayleigh McEnany to serve as his White House press secretary.

Those who appreciated her public statements in that role will now be able to watch her in a new forum as a Fox News Channel contributor.

“We will be seeing much more of her in the future”

McEnany appeared on Faulkner Focus to sit down for her first formal interview since Trump left office in January. During the segment, host Harris Faulkner referred to her guest’s new position with the network.

“It is my distinct pleasure today to welcome Kayleigh McEnany to the Fox family,” Harris said. “We will be seeing much more of her in the future.”

Though her tenure as Trump’s top spokesperson attracted plenty of derision from the left, McEnany proved to be a popular figure among many conservative circles by building up a reputation for sticking up for Trump and calling out the media for perceived mischaracterizations of the administration.

In her recent on-air appearance, McEnany addressed several issues — including what she described as different standards for the Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

“I’ll never forget watching one of the early press briefings where she was asked about Antifa riots and I believe she said that she hadn’t spoken to the president about that,” she recalled. “They let her move on, whereas if I would have been asked that about violence on the other side of the aisle … that wouldn’t have been an answer that flew, nor should it have.

“I left her a note, I wish her the best”

The disparity she described left her with the determination that many in the media are serving as little more than “political operatives” on behalf of the Democratic Party.

“I wish her all the best,” McEnany said of her successor. “I left her a note saying that much, we’ve met previously, one time, and she was very kind. So were some of her colleagues in the press shop and I left her a note, I wish her the best.”

That did not stop her from throwing barbs at the current administration during another appearance on the network, including a harsh assessment of President Joe Biden’s reluctance to hold a solo press conference.

“Where’s Joe?” she asked. “It’s been 41 days, at this point President Trump had had multiple press appearances, press conferences. President Barack Obama had as well.”

While McEnany’s fans might delight at Fox News Channel’s decision to hire her, some within the company are reportedly furious that she received the gig amid rampant layoffs by the network.
