‘The View’ hosts predict divorce for George and Kellyanne Conway amid public spats

The ladies who co-host the daytime talk show The View tore into George and Kellyanne Conway’s marriage on Tuesday after George posted a nasty tweet the day before, the Washington Examiner reports.

“Your boss apparently thought so,” George Conway wrote to his wife after she tweeted about 2020 hopeful Joe Biden’s infamous leg hair story, asking: “We need Ukraine’s help to defeat THIS guy?”

It was the first time George Conway has responded publicly to comments made by his wife, although he has been consistently critical of President Donald Trump despite his wife’s position as White House counsel.

The View responds

Meghan McCain, the lone Republican host on The View, said Tuesday that the Conways have a “really sick marriage” and that it is “gross” for them to be feuding on Twitter. “The idea that me and my husband would be somehow feuding with each other over our work, I just think it’s gross. I don’t know why America has to be subjected to their marital problems,” McCain said, noting that the pair’s four children might read the tweets one day.

Fellow host Sunny Hostin predicted that the two would get a divorce, while Joy Behar said she thought George Conway was simply firing back after Kellyanne bashed him in a recent interview. “He gets his power through me, if you haven’t noticed,” Kellyanne told the Examiners Caitlin Yilek in October, according to Fox News.

“I think she ticked him off,” Behar said of Kellyanne’s previous statement. “That was an emasculating remark.”

Behar and co-host Ronan Farrow both agreed, however, that although the couple may spar in public, they probably got along behind closed doors. “I think it turns them on,” Behar said. “They love it.”

Bullies in Washington?

The Conways would hardly be the first couple to have a spat on social media, but their high profiles just bring more attention to what was surely a momentary lapse.

There were limits to the co-hosts’ sympathy for Kellyanne, however. When Abby Huntsman said she was “uncomfortable” because it seemed like George Conway was “bullying” Kellyanne, Behar shot back that Kellyanne “works for the bully-in-chief.”

For her part, McCain chimed in that Kellyanne can “dish it out.” Before becoming White House counsel, Kellyanne Conway was the first woman to lead a successful presidential campaign.

It can’t be easy to be married to someone who seems to hate your boss, though, especially when he can’t resist spewing that hate on your Twitter timeline.
